I. About us

Our base is Centre for Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (CEBCM, BUCM), located in Beijing.

Centre for Evidence-Based Chinese Medicine was founded in May 2005 on the basis of clinical epidemiology department, at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The Centre was approved as CEU (Clinical Epidemiology Unit) in Feb 2008 by INCLEN and works also as part of Cochrane Collaboration (TCM Branch of CAM Field in Beijing) as well as the partner of Cochrane Hepato-Biliary Group. In 2011, the center became the Key Research Institute of EBM TCM Evaluation of State Administration of TCM. 
Currently there are 12 staffs including 5 professors, 1 associate professor and 6 lecturers, working to promote evidence-based Chinese medicine research and practice, to establish scientific evidence base of TCM to share with western world and to promote capacity building of TCM researchers and college students.

II. Our work in Cochrane

We host two Cochrane China Network working groups, Traditional Chinese medicine working group and Translation & dissemination working group.

Traditional Chinese medicine working group

  Thematic areaTo utilise evidence-based approach to inform practice and research in TCM, including training on research methodology and systematic review, help with capacity building, running GCP style clinical trials on TCM, provide methodological guidance, synthesizing clinical evidence, dissemination Cochrane reviews, and facilitate development of clinical practice guidelines in TCM.
Activities:
Establishing the goals and mission of TCM working group;
Involving more members to join in the working group;
Sponsoring and organizing seminars/workshops on Cochrane review methodology;
Translation of TCM trials published in China into English and submit to be in CENTRAL in collaboration with Cochrane Complementary and Alternative Medicine Field;
Facilitating KT of Cochrane evidence into policy making, such as clinical practice guidelines of TCM and integrative medicine and health.
Long-term activities may include:
Capacity building of evidence-based methodology;
Implementation of TCM evidence;
Promote generation of good quality evidence through EBM approach in TCM;
To inform practitioners/researchers in China and share information throughout the world;
To develop evidence-based TCM in both practice and policy making.
Potential collaboration working groups included:
Advanced research methodology
Clinical practice guideline
Health technology assessment
Translation and dissemination.
TCM group will work closely with other groups in training, promoting dissemination of Cochrane evidence for clinical practice and generating best evidence.

Translation and dissemination working group

  Contact person: Xun Li, tina000341@163.com
  Thematic area of the Working GroupTranslation and dissemination of Cochrane products, including plain language summary, abstract, podcast, feature review and blogshots and all other Cochrane products, into simplified Chinese based on China’s largest multimedia platform WeChat, involving more people with Cochrane Knowledge Translation by training volunteers to get aware, understand and translate Cochrane evidence.
Activities:
Establishing the goals and mission of Translation and Dissemination Working Group
Involving more members to join in the working group
Sponsoring and organizing workshops on Cochrane evidence translation and dissemination
Recruitment and training of translation and editing volunteers
Capacity building of evidence translation and dissemination
Promote good quality KT practice
Promote knowledge sharing and best evidence dissemination internationally
Joint activities with other Working Groups
Translation and dissemination working group will coordinate with other groups to recruit expertized translation editors and target evidence for translation with consideration of user interest in different areas, especially Health Technology Assessment Working Group, GRADE and guideline development Group, Implementation science Group, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Group. With the same base, translation and dissemination group with work closely with TCM group.

您需要通过试译考核,方可成为正式志愿者后,在Cochrane汉化项目的管理和要求下参与翻译工作。

2. 根据公众号提示,通过邮件发送个人简介ebmvolunteer@163.com),获得试译选段→循证中心教师评估
3. 收到录用邮件(成为志愿者)→加入微信群-入群修改姓名“年级-专业-姓名”
4. 填写志愿者登记表,发回指定邮箱(表内有填写说明,请在规定时间内完成)
5. Cochrane账号注册:确定一个邮箱→根据SOP完成注册→收到通知邮件(可能在垃圾邮件内,注意查收)→注册为中文名→完成注册
6. Translator申请注册:根据SOP完成申请
7. Memsource账户激活完成:完成Cochrane账号、Translator申请注册后,根据SOP激活
