The Second National Congress on Real World Data and Research was held by West China hospital, China Cochrane Center, ISPOR West China Branch, IDEAL China Center, ChinaREAL World Data and Research Alliance and Chengdu Big Data Association in Chengdu. More than 900 government officials, clinicians and scholars, students and business representatives from all over the country attended the meeting.

Professor Elizabeth W. Loder, clinical epidemiology editor of The BMJ, Dr. Xavier Kurz, head of the pharmacovigilance and epidemiological surveillance department of the European Food and Drug Administration, Director Jiang Deyuan and Deputy Director Gao Guobiao of the Department of Medical Device Registration Administration of the National Drug Administration, Director Jia Ning of the Hainan Provincial Drug Administration, Executive Vice President Wan Xuehong of our hospital, Professor Li Youping, the first director of the China Evidence-Based Medicine Center, and Professor Sun Xin, the current director, attended the opening ceremony of the conference.

The opening ceremony also held the inauguration ceremony of MAGIC China center and the awarding ceremony of real world data partners. Xiamen health care big data management center and Ningbo yinzhou district disease prevention and control center were awarded "China real world data and research alliance data research base". The Technical Specification for Real World Data and Research, written by the main members of the ChinaREAL World Data and Research Alliance, consists of an overview and five chapters, was released. As the first batch of technical specifications for real world data and research, it mainly solves the two key issues of "how to establish research-based database based on RWD" and "how to evaluate treatment outcomes based on these research data".
